I'm Laila Goodridge, the current MLA for Fort McMurray-Conklin and nomination candidate for the new riding of Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche. The NDP have redrawn the boundary lines and the current constituency will no longer exist in the 2019 provincial election. It's been such an honour to be elected to the legislature and I hope that I can continue to be your voice in Edmonton after the next election.

The NDP threw everything they had at me during the summer by-election. They ran a strong candidate and paraded Premier Notley and her Ministers through the constituency. Still, with your help, we won! I've already proven I can win this riding and with your continued backing we will win once again in the Spring.

I was born and raised in Fort McMurray and I understand what’s important to the people of this region and what makes it so special. I was here during the Fort McMurray fire and worked directly with residents on returning home and rebuilding their lives. I also know how important Lac La Biche is to our region. It's not Fort McMurray vs Lac La Biche, it's Fort McMurray AND Lac La Biche and I'll be proud to represent both.

I spent five years working in the oil and gas sector before deciding to pursue my passion for politics and serving Albertans. I served as an advisor to Members of Parliament, Federal Conservative Ministers and Members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in Edmonton before winning a nomination earlier this year and becoming a United Conservative Party MLA. I have a strong background and understanding in politics and the experience necessary to get things done for you.

I'm fluent in both of Canada’s Official Languages and have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta’s francophone Campus Saint Jean.

I've been proud to stand with Jason Kenney and my caucus colleagues fighting the carbon tax, to build pipelines, pushing policies that would create jobs and listening to the issues that matter most to the people of our great province.

Thank you for being a United Conservative member. Together we will defeat the NDP and bring prosperity back to Alberta. Please cast your vote for me on October 25 & 26.
